A trade body geared towards intermediaries in the debt solutions industry has been launched, with a view towards helping organisations stay in line with credit and debt advice regulations.
The Association of Professional Debt Solution Intermediaries (APDSI) has been established to represent intermediaries which have been licensed by the Office of Fair Trading and authorised by the FSA.
The initiative has been formed in the wake of the government placing greater scrutiny on protection for the UK consumer.
The body will approve licensed debt solutions services which can undertake referrals of complaints, and will look to promote best practise in the debt help intermediary market.
One of the founding members of the establishment is director of the Pentagon Group, Kevin Still.
