People on housing benefits will no longer have the option of living in central London without requiring debt help, according to an expert.
Gwyneth King, who offers legal help for the Mary Ward charity, claims that capping benefits will have the biggest impact on the long-term sick who don't qualify for disability living allowance (DLA).
She uses the example of one of her clients, who has a long-term injury which prevents him from working, but isn't eligible for DLA.
His family currently lives a hand-to-mouth existence on £600 a week of benefits, but they face being driven into debt as their benefits are cut to £500.
Ms King warns that more people in this situation will be driven out of their homes or forced to seek debt advice as it's "really hard to claim" the disability allowance they need.
