Cancer patients may need debt management help, after a new survey revealed that many were having trouble paying their fuel bills.
Macmillan Cancer Support revealed that nearly half (43 per cent) of the people who asked for financial support from the charity needed help with paying for their energy usage.
This comes after the study also revealed that almost three-quarters (73 per cent) of cancer patients confirmed that they need to use the heating more often since their diagnosis.
Quite often, these people have to give up work because of their illness, enhancing their chances of falling into debt.
Ciaran Devane from Macmillan states that it is simply not fair that cancer patients should struggle with bills when they are already battling illness.
