Unemployment debt fears grow
10/06/2010The numbers out of work in Scotland are far in excess of the amount of jobs available, meaning that debt misery is inevitable for many.
According to a new survey from the GMB union, Scotland has unemployment figures of over 175,000 (175,200), with another 650,000 people of working age who are economically inactive.
By comparison, there are a little over 20,000 (21,793) jobs advertised in job centres, which GMB take to be about half the total amount of jobs on offer.
As a result, many will be left seeking debt solutions unless many more jobs are created.
