Npower customers are being urged to check their tariff if they've recently been moved to a new one, or risk financial problems.
The advice comes from comparison site, GoCompare.com. They point out that Npower's Sign Online 14 tariff has been withdrawn and customers are being automatically assigned a new one.
They cite one example of a Sign Online 14 customer whose bill increased by 24 per cent due to the tariff they were placed on, whereas registering for the Sign Online 17 tariff would save them 20 per cent.
GoCompare.com call it "pretty shameful behaviour from Npower" and advise customers to keep a keen eye on their bill, otherwise they may need to redraw their personal financial budgets.
