Post Office bank to help with finances

The government is seeking to soothe the Post Office's financial problems by introducing new financial services which aim to make the network more sustainable.

The Post Office's potential is massive, with 11,500 branches throughout the country – far more than all the other banks combined.

Some of the proposed services will include a children's savings account –which will help with finances from an early age in a bid to stop greater problems in the future – and a weekly budgeting account.

This will help low income users set personal financial budgets and save money on utility bills by taking advantage of direct debit discounts.

However, for those with personal debt, these measures may still not be enough.
