
A quarter of Britons were left feeling the cold last winter in an attempt to keep fuel bills down.
A new survey from Gocompare.com has shown that another 15 per cent had to make cutbacks so they could keep warm.
It also reveals that just over a fifth of those asked are already worrying about heating bills for next winter.
However, customers could ease their financial problems simply by changing their energy supplier.
The report shows that 20 per cent have never switched provider and if they did, they could be in line for collective savings of more than £1.4bn each year.
