Figures on bank complaints from the Financial Ombudsman Service have been released showing the Lloyds Group's two banks, Lloyds TSB and Bank of Scotland, were the most complained-about.
Complaints about banks have soared in recent years, with more and more becoming unhappy about the regular exploitation of bank customers.
The FOS received the most complaints about Lloyds TSB followed by Bank of Scotland, with Barclays in third place.
Across all the complaints received, the Ombudsman ruled in favour of the customer in 59 per cent of cases in the first half of 2009 and 53 per cent in the second half making it clear that it pays to complain if you are angry with the banks.
At the same time, another big high street name Royal Bank of Scotland, which also owns Natwest is facing investigation by the Financial Services Authority, the industry watchdog.
The FSA is concerned about the handling of complaints made directly to banks, and is particularly concerned about RBS.
