
Families could be spending too much on the daily cost of living, because they're not seeking out better deals.
A new study by GoCompare.com's found 20 million Brits stuck with the companies providing them services like gas, electricity, insurance and credit cards, despite the recession.
Less than two out of ten customers changed their home insurance or mobile phone providers, while only one in ten switched their credit card debt.
That means millions of households could be paying more than they should for everyday services, which could lead to more debt problems.
Kevin Still of Atlantic comments, "Atlantic has set up www.bankswitching.co.uk and www.energyswitching.co.uk to provide exactly this type of debt help.
"The number of people using on-line energy tariffs compared to the number of people with Internet access is totally out of balance.
"Increasing disposable income should be a priority for people struggling with their finances and needing money or debt advice."
